Your Questions About Laser Treatment For Acne Scars

Daniel asks…

Fractal Laser Acne Scars Treatment?

Is there any center that does Fractal Laser Acne scar Treatment effectively in chennai or bangalore.

Please share the results info if any one took treatment for them selves and felt happy with treatment

rob answers:

Fraxel is being promoted as a good solution for acne scarring and pitting. It is also FDA approved for the treatment of acne scars and surgical scars along with skin resurfacing.

After your skin resurfacing procedures, you should wear a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and avoid direct sun exposure. This is recommended for at least 3 months after your last treatment. You should also wear a wide brimmed hat on extra sunny days.

The standard side effects of Fraxel treatments are redness and swelling and a bronzing effect. Other temporary effects include dry skin flaking or peeling as your skin exfoliates. Some patients experience small breakouts of whiteheads so be sure to ask your dermatologist for medication to clear this flair-up. Noticeable improvements with your acne scarring should ensue.

Laser Treatment for acne scars ?

I need your suggestion/advise about laser treatment.

I had a lot of acne on my nose and face few years ago. Acne is gone now but it left scars and pours all over my face and nose. I heard that the laser treatment can solve this problem.

It will be a great help if you can provide any info (like the effectiveness of this treatment, costs, procedure, recommended treatment center in mississauga etc) on this. I live in Mississauga, Ontario.

I would not have laser treatments for this. I’ve heard way too many horror stories about it. I’m sure it does work in some cases, but usually things like this can be cleared up without it.

I had the same problem and I took care of it by using Retinol-A. Its a prescription topical treatment that you put directly onto the scars and marks at night. It starts to fade them after a while. It’s not 100% perfect, but it helped alot! It can make your face a little bit red if you use alot of it without giving your skin a break, but overall it was good.

Also there’s a gel from Neutrogena called Fight and Fade and it’s supposed to help get rid of post acne marks. I haven’t tried that one though.

Donna asks…

Does laser scar removal for acne scars work?

I was thinking of getting it done because once my face cleared up the acne left a lot of scars on my cheeks even though I never picked at them or anything. I was just wondering if laser treatment for acne scarring really works? I already know its a costly procedure that is why I’m asking.

rob answers:

Laser treatment or dermabrasion are the best ways. Its pricey though. Here are more info for acne scars.. I hope this would help.

Fraxel Laser Treatment for acne scars?

my dermatologist told me that my best option for minimizing the appearance of my acne scars is to have fraxel laser surgery. For 4 treatments, its going to cost me $3,600.

My derm is reputable (I see tv commercial about her clinics) and I’ve been seeing her for the past 3 years.

Should I be skeptical of this procedure? My research tells me that people has had good and bad experiences with fraxel treatments. What’s your thought?

rob answers:

Well,to get rid of acne scars, the best procedure to take is a laser treatment which is what you’re planning to take right now.I would say that would be a very cheap treatment since it consists of 4 treatments and you should proceed if you want.Plus, this procedure is much faster and improve your skin complexion without any side effects. However,if you would like to opt for cheaper alternatives you could try these alternatives at home too(:

Baking Soda-Exfoliate your skin with baking soda. Often times, a version of baking soda is used in cosmetic microdermabrasion treatments. You can give yourself a mini microdermabrasion treatment by mixing one teaspoon of baking soda with the two teaspoons of filtered water. Then gently rub the mixture on your acne scar for sixty seconds then rinse it off.

Fresh Fruits-In addition to eating fresh fruits to supply your skin with collagen building vitamin C, you can also smear them onto your face for gentle acid exfoliation. Just puree a forth a cup of pineapple and smooth it onto your face. Leave it for 10-15 minutes, then rinse. Since the pineapple contains ascorbic acid, it will impart a brightening effect on the face, and help fade acne marks.

Apple And Honey-Using a blender, make a mixture out of 1 peeled apple with 1 tablespoon of yogurt, half a cucumber and 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply on face, leave for 20 minutes and wash off with warm water.

Olive Oil-Massage a pea-sized amount of olive oil onto your face.Acne scaring can cause the skin to lose its elasticity and suppleness. The moisturizing nutrients in the olive oil will penetrate the skin to deeply moisturize the skin and soften the skin’s texture.

Well, these are those 4 remedies that works best for your skin that impose no irritation to your skin.Good luck trying these at home and pick one that suits you.Hope this helps and great skin wishes.
